All of these photos were taken left-handed; my right arm was in a cast. The first three were taken less than a week after I came out of hospital; the others were taken a few days before the cast came off. As I'm very much right-handed, it's amazing that any of the photos I took on these two days turned out at all.

I was sitting downstairs reading email when I looked out and saw a Kookaburra in the pine tree outside. It didn't seem at all interested in me as I stood below taking the first three photos.

The other photos were taken on the balcony outside our bedroom. This bird watched me intently, and let me get within about 1m to take these photos.
